FLORIDA RETIREMENT SYSTEM (FRS): a state sponsored retirement system offering investment and pension plans.
HEALTH INSURANCE—BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD OF FLORIDA: offers a PPO and two HMO plans to meet your health insurance needs; employer/employee paid contributions.
DENTAL INSURANCE—FLORIDA COMBINED LIFE: offers optional PPO and HMO plans.
VISION INSURANCE—SUPERIOR VISION: offers optional vision coverage.
AFLAC—SUPPLEMENTAL INSURANCE: Pasco Sheriff’s Office offers a number of AFLAC plans including, but not limited to:

DEFERRED COMPENSATION—PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS (457 PLANS): The agency offers two different deferred compensation plans, Hartford, Raymond James, Nationwide and USA Funds.
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM— The EAP provides confidential, short-term counseling to our employees and their family members at no charge, regardless of whether or not they are covered by our group health insurance.
PRE-PAID LEGAL SERVICES: The Florida Sheriff’s Association provides this program to Pasco Sheriff’s Office personnel. Available Services:

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT (FSA): Available to all employees; members will be able to contribute $3,600.00 per calendar year. This account allows an employee to have pre-taxed dollars payroll deducted and placed into his/her individual FSA account for use in reimbursements for medical and dependent care expenses.

VACATION/SICK LEAVE ACCRUAL: civilian employees accrue 3.7 hrs of vacation and sick leave every pay period; certified employees accrue 3.93 hrs of vacation and sick. Vacation accrual increases incrementally based on years of service. Eligible employees may participate in the SICK LEAVE POOL as well as the SICK LEAVE BUY BACK PROGRAM offered annually, around Christmas time.
GYM FACILITIES—Every Sheriff’s Office location has recently updated gym facilities available for employees.
FLORIDA PRE-PAID COLLEGE PROGRAM–State sponsored tuition assistance program for your children.
